August 19th : Day of Hope & Remembrance

Today is August 19th.  While this date doesn't particularly mean anything to most people, it has been set aside by grief-stricken, baby loss, parents as an International Day of Hope.  You can read about the origins of the project here.  And, started by the same mama is a project that is specifically for those just beginning their journey through the loss of a child(ren).

There are so many babyloss families on the internet and it's so easy to reach out and connect.  I cannot recommend making the connection(s) enough.  The Lord really pulled me through my grief, but He often used the enormous community of other babyloss families to get to me.  We are so blessed to have the internet to join us all together these days...can you even imagine going through tragic events such as these even just 20 years ago?  Now, try thinking back 100 years...  Devastating!
"August 19th is a day to break down the walls of society that keep pregnancy, infant and child loss a hush hush subject. People view the death of a baby as just a sad thing that happened. These babies that die are not sad things that happen. They are people, much loved and wanted children. They are brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grandsons and granddaughters." ~Carly Marie Dudley~
That being said, I wish each of you peace on this day of hope.
