waiting game

I went in today to have my cerclage removed.  It was so surreal.  We arrived at the hospital at 7 a.m., and by 8:30 I was all prepped and ready to be taken to the OR.  By 8:36 I had my spinal in place and by 9:01 I was being transferred to the bed to be wheeled to my room.

The procedure was a breeze, of course I think that's only because I the spinal block in.  That was the worst part of the whole thing.  I felt so much of the tube going into my back, they had to stop & put in more local anesthesia.  Yikes!  Then, as it was wearing off I had a mild panic attack - complete with crying...the feeling of not being able to move, but being aware of pain/discomfort...not fun & I do not recommend it.

They did let Matt stay in the OR with me, and that was super-nice.  I think it kept me pretty calm just knowing he was there with me.  I had such peace throughout the whole procedure, in fact...I was giggling and making jokes the entire time we were in the OR!  God is so good!!

Anyhow, I'm 3.5cm dilated, but having no contractions at the moment.  I have been in bed all of today due to the pain from the procedure, but tomorrow I plan to get out and about for a bit.  I hear that walking around can help bring on labor and I'm all for that at this point.  I am so ready to meet this little guy.

Oh, and speaking of 'little'.  Yeah, on today's ultrasound...Noah was 8lb4oz!!  Holy Moly!!!

Now, here are some 36wk pics taken by my BFF, Donna!

this is what it looks like to be pregnant for 17 out of 26 months!  oh yeah, and have an 8lb baby!! heehee
